Battery
Whenever the negative (white trailer wire to black battery post) is connected, the positive (black wire throughout the trailer but red for the last little bit that connects to the red battery post) must be connected. So you will never have the negative connected by itself. This is because if the negative is connected and you are holding the hot wire anything you touch could be bad.
Connecting
- Connect the red wire attached to the black trailer wiring to the red battery post
- Then connect the white trailer wire to the black battery post
Disconnecting
- Disconnect the wire on the black battery post
- Then disconnect the wire on the red battery post
Battery Charge
Battery charge is an oddly complicated subject. The following values are only in any way valid for a disconnected battery that has been at rest for a few hours. So caveat emptor.
Charge | Volts |
---|---|
100% | 12.8 |
75% | 12.4 |
50% | 12 |
25% | 11.7 |
