Southern Taiwan
Hengchun
Gloomy. Today we fly the length of Taiwan to go from the industrialized North to the beautiful South. Hengchun is the big town in the South. Used to absolutely full of tourists. But these days, with travel restrictions, it's kind of a quiet place. Works for me. Off we go.
If you buy something eletronic, it probably came from here. |
A nice little valley to follow. |
I believe we have crossed the North/South divide.
Now instead of megalopolises it's mostly rural communities. |
Just over there to the right at the bend of the river would be an awesome place to put a Budhist Temple. |
But we're heading this way, over this light mountain.
And there we have Hengchun. This is considered the big place on the southern tip near the Kenting Forest, but it's a tiny little place compared to the places to the north. Much more to my liking. |
So that's a wrap for Portuguese Isla Formosa. Tomorrow it's more water and then we'll continue our Portuguese odyssey with the Phillipines. |
